Diesel Engine Course

Brief description
In the basic course you will learn how a boat diesel engine works and how to operate and maintain it. The basic courses are held with a maximum of ten people.

Course time: from 09.15 - 12.30 and 14.00 - 17.15. Course materials will be handed out.

Costs will be between CHF 200 and 260 depending on how many participants will attend the course. 

Prerequisites

No previous technical knowledge is required for the basic course.

Contents
The following topics will be worked out together:

- Engine types: their mode of operation and field of application
- Structure and function of the engine
- Cooling systems: single-circuit, dual-circuit and keel cooling, impeller change, temperature monitoring
- Oil circuit: oil and oil filter change, oil qualities, oil pressure monitoring
- Fuel system: low and high pressure system, venting, delivery and
injection pump, injection nozzles
- General: wear and corrosion protection, news, literature
