Round The Island Race

Round the Island, Saturday 11^th July 2026

Join us for the iconic race around the Isle of Wight, UK. The same course as the very first America's Cup. 

1100+ boats on the start line.

We’ll be on a Pogo44, a fast racer cruiser, racing in IRC1 against the fastest boats in the fleet. This 44ft boat does 11knots planing in 15knots of wind! 

An incredible racing weekend. 

Requirements

Some racing experience is preferred, but if you're interested let me know and we can discuss what to expect. We will only have one practice day and that's not much time to learn how to dip-pole-gybe a spinnaker! 

Race Weekend 10^th-12^th July 

Arrive boat Thu 9^th evening (or 08h00 Friday 10^th if you prefer)

Friday 10^th: Practice day. Stay in Cowes Friday night

Saturday 11^th:

• Depart Cowes 06h00
• Race start 07h00
• Race Finish late afternoon
• Stay in Cowes Saturday Night

Sunday 12^th

• Chilled sail. We will either depart boat in Cowes (you can take 20minute Redjet back to Southampton) or sail back to Southampton depending on conditions on the day.
• Off the boat by 15h00

€600 per person boat charter plus marina, food, fuel

- We have a spot reserved in Cowes Yacht Haven for Friday and Saturday night

Getting there 

Flights to Gatwick, Heathrow or Southampton. Train, bus or taxi-share (50mins) to Southampton. Redjet ferry from Southampton to Cowes (25 minutes)
